From mainland British Columbia:
There are some direct ferry routes from Tsawwassen terminal (just outside Vancouver) to Long Harbour terminal on Salt Spring Island. The direct ferry travel time is 1.5 hours and the drive from Long Harbour to The Jam Factory is 5 minutes. Note that there are very few direct runs on this route.
Alternatively, you can take a ferry from Tsawwassen to Swartz Bay terminal on Vancouver Island then transfer to the Fulford Harbour ferry to Salt Spring Island. This route takes 2 hours and the drive to The Jam Factory is 16 minutes. Be sure to purchase a through-fare to Salt Spring Island if you are traveling this route. Note – this route is often a better option.

Take the Black Ball ferry to Vancouver Island, then drive to Swartz Bay (40-minute drive) and board the ferry to Fulford Harbour on Salt Spring Island (35 minute ferry ride). https://cohoferry.com
